A Commitment Born From Lived Experience
For years, I have served as a primary healthcare provider in Cameroon, witnessing both the joy of new life and the heartbreak of preventable illness. But nothing shaped my purpose more than the humanitarian impact of the Anglophone crisis.
As violence forced thousands of families to flee their homes, many arrived in unfamiliar communities with nothing but the clothes they were wearing. Among them were pregnant women who had missed antenatal care, children who had gone without routine immunizations, elderly people living with untreated chronic illnesses, and families struggling to afford even the most basic healthcare.
Working on the front lines, I saw mothers choosing between feeding their children and paying for medical treatment. I met expectant mothers who walked long distances to reach a health facility because displacement had cut them off from essential services. I cared for children whose illnesses had worsened simply because help came too late.
These experiences made one truth impossible to ignore: where a family lives—or whether they have been displaced—should never determine whether they receive life-saving healthcare. That conviction led to the creation of Divine Care.
Our mission is to restore hope, dignity, and health to internally displaced persons and other vulnerable communities by bringing quality healthcare closer to those who need it most. Through maternal and child health services, community outreach, health education, digital innovation, and humanitarian support, we work to ensure that no mother gives birth without care and no child is denied the opportunity to grow up healthy.

BORN FROM PAIN, RESILIENCE, AND HOPE
In 2016, when the Anglophone crisis erupted in Cameroon, our family was forced to flee our home after my brother was shot during the violence. Like thousands of other families, we became internally displaced, leaving behind our home and the security we had always known.
As a primary healthcare provider, I quickly witnessed a silent emergency: pregnant women missing antenatal care due to cost, mothers giving birth without skilled care, and children missing life-saving vaccinations. Displacement wasn't just stealing homes—it was stealing health and dignity.
With entrepreneurial support from the Tony Elumelu Foundation, we established Divine Care Medical Center in Edéa to ensure no displaced woman loses her life because she cannot afford care.
